1. The aerial photograph was taken by photographer, and pilot, Mr. Daryl Pinder of Bendigo, at about 1000 feet above the ground.

2. At the top of the picture, where the forest ends, there are buildings which are part of the gold treatment plant of a gold mine at Fosterville extending towards Goornong

3.Just beyond the rear boundaries of lots 27-30 is a high ridge, the top of the Mount Sugarloaf Range.

4. On lot 30, near the boundary of lot 29, is a cleared strip of land along which there is a high tension electricity line. One pylon for this line can be seen on the top ot the Sugarloaf Ridge and another halfway along the cleared strip on lot 30.

5. A lower ridge line can be seen crossing all of the lots with a break in this ridge on the boundary of lots 26 and 27.

6. In the bottom right hand corner of the picture is a high-quality house on lot 25.

7. O’Briens Lane goes from the allotments to the McIvor Highway which goes to Bendigo (right turn) and to Axedale (left turn).
8. Pinpandoor Road, to the right, joins into Sugarloaf Road which joins the McIvor Highway on the Bendigo side of Axedale.
9. The high point of the Sugarloaf Ridge shown near the rear corner of lot 30, was the site, many years ago, of the Axedale Gold Mine.
10. The name Pinpandor was that of an aboriginal tribe which lived in the area, perhaps centred at Rochester, many years ago.
11. The forested area near the Fosterville Gold Treatment Plant is the Wellsford State Forest which extends almost to Bendigo.
12. Because this area is so forested and has abundant dams as well as cleared paddocks, there are many kangaroos and wallabies, as well as other native wild life. Any residents in the area can expect frequent visits from native animals.
13. The natural environment is largely free of airborne pollutants and provides a very healthy home for any residents.
14. The clean air is also excellent for people keen on looking at the stars through telescopes.
15. Each morning a school bus to the Axedale Primary School goes along O’Briens Lane then right into Pinpandoor Road, each morning, returning in the afternoon.
DIRECTIONS:
Off Axedale Road turn left into Sugarloaf Road, over bridge and straight on at turn.
