Large 2,800 dairy cow conversion in North East Tasmania.

With Stage 1 (Oxberry Dairy) completed and milking 1,050 cows on 235 hectares, the Vendors are about to commence Stage 2 (Bulger Hill Dairy) 295 hectares milking 1,200 cows with Stage 3 (Riverside Dairy) 170 hectares to follow at a later date, with a total of 2,800 cows to be milked at completion.
Oxberry Dairy is budgeted to produce 525,000 milk solids this season and similar production per cow is expected from Stage’s 2 and 3.

The “Jewel in the Crown” for this dairy development is the 4,696 megalitre water right which will enable the 690 hectares to be fully irrigated.

The majority of the land on Oxberry Dairy is subdivided into 24 paddocks in a cart wheel pattern under the pivot with all paddocks joining the centralised dairy.

The cows are milked through a 54 bale Wiakato rotary dairy that features auto cup removers, auto grain delivery, auto draft and an under cover stock handling area. Adjacent to the dairy there is also a large calf rearing shed and machinery shed. The Managers house (built 2013) is brick veneer with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 lounge rooms. There is also a rendered workers cottage.

This unique property with an abundant water supply is situated in North Eastern Tasmania, 16km from Scottsdale and 28km from the coastal township of Bridport.

Agrilac has been runner up in the Dairy Business of the year for the last 2 years and was awarded the pasture production award of 17 tonnes hectare harvested. The farm is proving to be one of the highest producing farms in Tasmania due to its warm coastal environment.
