A beautiful lifestyle has been created by the owners of this Tuscan inspired home and cafe.
A 1855 building was the foundation for the vision. A high quality renovation ensured with the owner’s residence upstairs sure to delight those who appreciate quality and style. Two bedrooms with attached bathrooms are at split levels from the main, open plan living areas. The bathrooms feature Italian tiling and ceramic ware and myrtle vanities.
While the kitchen, dining and main living areas offer seamless living, there are artfully designed nooks for reading or relaxing and Juliet balconies to offer views of the stunning 1 1/2 acre garden and the Tasmanian grazing land with the backdrop of the Western Tiers. The kitchen offers top end domestic cooking facilities along with timber cabinetry.
The residence seems a million miles away from the business which is, in reality, conveniently located on the ground floor of the premises. The cafe seats 50 guests inside with seating for another 40 guests available on the verandah and decks. Those seated outside are able to enjoy the established English style gardens which add to the sumptuousness of the experience. The cafe has an ambiance rarely felt in Australia. The eclectic decor, the warmth, and the feeling of being amply cared for are more redolent of a European way of life and it is easy to understand why some guests come for lunch every single Sunday of the year.
The cafe operates Wednesday to Sunday with kitchen hand help and additional front of house staff. In response to demand and as a labour of love Jane Randall recently published her own cookbook, a beautiful book reflecting her passion for food and for eating in beautiful surroundings with family and friends. The cafe is popular with locals and tourists and is sometimes the venue for weddings and other special events.
