Wayatinah Village is a small community built by Hydro Tasmania in the 1950′s to house workers that were involved in the development of Tasmania’s hydroelectric power network. The extensive lakes and lagoons that stretch across the Central Highlands are a wonderful recreation resource and are internationally recognised as one of the world’s finest wild trout fisheries.
These three well maintained homes are set in the tidy village which offers a friendly population, a tavern, shop, petrol bowsers, golf course (possibly not to Tiger’s or Greg Norman’s standard, but good fun) and a few minutes to the quiet and protected waters of the Wayatinah Lagoon – the source of many a fine trophy trout.
The village is central to many famous fishing waters and hunting locations.
