Located 21 km north of Gympie, this cattle and horse property has an outstanding carrying capacity, due to its excellent soils and abundant water supply. The exact location of the property is 4.4 km north on the right side of the Bruce Highway, past the new Curra petrol station. The homestead is situated some 500 metres off the highway and only 15 minutes drive north of Gympie.

The Homestead
The old world wooden Queenslander cottage is quite spacious inside with 4 bedrooms, an ensuite and separate family bathroom. The immaculately polished hoop pine floors, very high ceilings and large family friendly kitchen are reminiscent of times gone by. The kitchen is well arranged, with good quality stove, a dishwasher and an enormous pantry. The lounge has the traditional wood burner heater and there are ceiling fans throughout. There is a separate office which is perfect for students to study. Much of the living is done out on the elevated back veranda that overlooks the property. The home sits on concrete stumps.

Drinking water for the home is from a 2 x 22,000 L concrete water tanks. The toilet and laundry water is from a separate tank filled by a pump from the creek.

Farm Buildings
There are 2 sheds. The machinery, caravan, and farm vehicles are located under the roof of an open-sided 16 x 12m shed with 3m clearance. The farm workshop and 2 horse stables are in a 10 x 6m shed with concrete floor.

The Land
The property is divided into 6 main paddocks, 25 – 30 acres each, and 4 smaller ones around the steel and timber cattle yards. The yards have a head bail, crush with vet facility and ramp. It has a carrying capacity of 50 head. As a successful cattle and horse property, the pastures have been improved by Paspalum, Rhodes grass (callide), Queensland Blue grass, native grasses and the legume Lotononis. The property is very rare as it is almost Seteria free. Thus, horses can graze freely without the worry of big head.

The six main paddock’s water supply is from dams, spring fed lagoons or the Curra Creek which bisects the property. The four smaller paddock’s water is from troughs supplied by a header tank near the home.

The boundary, internal fencing and gates are all in excellent repair. The proven carrying capacity of the land is 70 to 80 breeders. A Fordson tractor with a new motor, farm implements, a Honda 3-wheeler with trailer and supply of fence posts, etc. are available but NOT included in the purchase price of the farm.

This is definitely a cattle and horse property that you need to inspect to appreciate.
