Vendor Statement:
We purchased the property at 7 Greenleaf crt as our first family home in 2013. We had moved back from Mackay where a career in mining helped us to save enough money for our first home.
When looking for a property to purchase there were certain things that we were looking for. With a young daughter the thing that was a necessity to us was a quiet street and a decent size backyard for our family to grow and enjoy the beautiful Sunshine Coast weather. After months of searching we stumbled across 7 Greenleaf court, it was our ideal property and met all of our needs quiet street, big backyard, double lock up garage and the pool with the huge deck was an absolute bonus. On first inspection of the property we were excited to find it was located in a nice well maintained part of Buderim in a quiet court. Although the condition of the interior of the property was quite average it met our budget and had loads of potential.
After moving in and getting settled we started planning the renovations and improvements to make this our dream home. We re-tiled the whole house in a modern gloss tile, re did the kitchen to suit our love for entertaining and cooking. Our favourite modification being the chef size gas stove. We removed the large outdated walk in pantry to open up the whole house. We then moved on to the main bathroom to make it more suitable for our growing family and trying to really modernise the house.
After another 6 months of saving we completed the rest of the house, laying new carpet and blinds in all 4 rooms and completely re doing the ensuite bathroom, finally we re-painted and redid the laundry. We also replaced all of the fans and light switches. The house from what we originally knew was now unrecognisable.
As summer approached we turned to the outside re-vamping the deck area with big plans of rendering the exterior, leveling the backyard, glass pool fencing and a nice shade sail over half the pool. Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to do the exterior as I was given a job offer I couldn’t refuse in central Qld, which is why the house is now up for sale, we have committed to 5 years out in Moranbah and thought it would be best to let someone else enjoy the house and put their own finishing touches on it.
We can definitely say that moving from this house and this street is going to be a sad day. In the short time we have been at this property we have met nearly everyone in the street. It is truly hard to find a street as close and friendly as Greenleaf CRT. All our neighbours are great and I have even come home from a week away at work to find John (directly across the road) had mowed my lawn for me! These kinds of people are hard to find these days let alone live amongst.
