The proposed Coomera Town Centre, covering 60 hectares will be larger than many major city shopping centres. With 1000,000 square metres of retail space, it will have more shops than the Gold Coast’s Pacific Fair. In addition it will accommodate commercial and government facilities, schools, and public amenities as well as residential buildings. It will have a major transport interchange, and an entertainment precinct linking it to Dreamworld Theme Park. A tri-level education precinct is proposed
including a TAFE and possibly the Gold Coast’s third university. All will share facilities such as
information technology, libraries, ovals and gymnasiums. The community centre will house a public library, private hospital, and 50-metre swimming pool. An integrated network of parkland will service the entire town providing environmental, aesthetic and recreational functions. An eco hotel is also on the drawing boards.
