COUNTRY: Mobandilla- Tending to be all good black/brown clay loams with the odd sandy ridge, the majority of country is flat to slightly undulating Weir River flood plain friable soils, timbered with Coolibah, Myall, Belah and a little Brigalow, carrying an excellent body of Mitchell, Blue grass, Blue couch, clover and herbage. Small percentage of sandy loam, Box, Wilga and Sandalwood country carrying a body of Buffel and clover. A large percentage (approximately 85%) of the property is subject to inundation in times of large flood events. This is considered to be mainly beneficial and in the past has not caused much damage, but creates excellent pasture and herbage growth, and overland water harvesting opportunities. Higher ridge areas out of flood reach provide flood refuge for stock and buildings. Scrub Block- Predominantly good black brown clay loams with Coolibah and Myall, a small percentage of sand ridge country with Box and Sandalwood. Kingumbilla- Generally red to black loams with Myall, Coolibah, Box and Sandalwood, with soils tending more red towards northern end of the property.
IRRIGATION LICENCES: Mobandilla- Water Allocation No. 136 for 650ML from Glenlyon Dam delivered through Yambocully Water Board. Water Allocation No. 278, volumetric limit 1,713ML/year, nominal volume 685ML water harvesting from Macintyre River through Yambocully Water Board, maximum 77.6ML take/day. Water Allocation No. 389, volumetric limit 8,196ML/year, nominal volume 2,404ML, water harvesting from Weir River, maximum 172.8ML/day at Titanic and Gooray pump sites. 1,500ML/day Weir River trigger. Water Allocation No. 405, volumetric limit 2,097ML/year, nominal volume 1,116ML at 5,000ML/day Weir River trigger, maximum take 307.2ML/day, overland flow by 7 pumps. Mobandilla, Scrub Block and Kingumbilla can have access to – Water Allocation No. 366, volumetric limit 3,016ML, nominal volume 1,344ML from Weir River, with start level 5,000ML/day, 1,500ML/day finish, maximum take 201.1ML/day, overland flow by 4 pumps. Water Allocation No. 365, volumetric limit 4,098ML, nominal volume 1,201ML from Weir River, with start level 1,500ML/day, 86ML/day finish, maximum take 86.4ML/day, overland flow by 4 pumps.
STORAGE: Total indicated capacity of 14,400ML. Mobandilla- 6,500ML capacity in storages of 3,500ML and 3,000ML, presently holding approx 2,500ML and 1,500ML respectively. 200ML weir in Weir River, presently holding approx 200ML. Scrub Block- 4,700ML ring tank, presently holding approx 700ML. Licences in place for pumping allocation and overland flow. Kingumbilla- 3,000ML ring tank, presently holding approx 2,300ML. 650ML allocation in Glen Lyon Dam available to all river pumps.
PUMPS: Mobandilla- 2 x 650mm pumps at Storage 1 for river and tail water, 2 x 650mm pumps at Storage 2 for river and tail water, 5 lift pumps for field delivery and tail water within development. 7 pumps on farm can be used to lift overland flow. Scrub Block- 650mm Chinese pump. Pumpsite plumbed for 2 pumps. Overland flow can be pumped by 1 pump. Kingumbilla- 650mm pump on Weir River, 500mm pump for tail water and supplies fields (no permit required). 650mm pump lifts water to fields (no permit required). Overland flow can be pumped by 3 pumps.
IRRIGATION DEVELOPMENT: Total area approx 1,546.7Ha (3,822Ac) developed at present. Mobandilla- Approx 1,158ha developed for flood irrigation, and flood protected, in 27 fields. A further 395ha could be developed for spray irrigation, but would not be flood protected. Scrub Block- No developed acres but easily room for approx 242ha lateral move and 2 pivots of 40ha and 50ha. Kingumbilla- 388.6ha flood irrigation with flood protection, in 6 fields. Room for further development of 60ha flood irrigation and 100ha pivot.
