Mount Margaret with a mixture of breeding and sweet fattening country property has produced some of the finest Hereford cattle in the North Burnett and features Cattle Creek, Calquer Creek and Chinaman Creek traversing the property.
Timbers are mainly silverleaf ironbark and bloodwood, with areas of box, good stands of narrowleaf ironbark and some patches of spotted gum around Mount Margaret. Blue gum, appletree and Morton Bay ash are along the watercourses.
Soils are decomposed granites and heavy blacks whilst pastures comprise mainly native black spear and Burnett blue grass with some buffel along Cattle Creek.
Mount Margaret features very good underground water supplies with 3 of the bores tested at 2,000, – 3,000 and 5,000 gallons per hour respectively. An irrigation bore on Cattle Creek equipped with an electric 10hp motor and pump has previously been used for hay production.

Mount Margaret is subdivided into 7 main paddocks plus the holding paddocks. Fencing is generally in good condition with a mixture of new and original fences along the boundaries. 7 kilometres of new 4 barb wooden post fence has been recently constructed.

The cattle yards and cooler pens are of timber construction and include a plunge dip, calf cradle and head bale. Improvements include the besser block residence and numerous hay, machinery and storage sheds.
