‘Marella’ on the Dee River
Just minutes from the central Queensland towns of Wowan & Dululu and full frontage to the Dee River is the irrigation and hay producing property Marella located just 70 kilometres from the entrance to Rockhampton and 78 kilometres north of the regional centre of Biloela.
With a total area of 178 productive acres the majority of the farm is irrigated with 128 acres serviced by 6″ underground mains. The irrigation water is pumped from the bore equipped with an electric 22 kilowatt, 4 stage, 5 inch turbine pump with hydrants every 90 metres. With the view to future development the owners have engaged local irrigation specialists to design centre pivots pads to service the irrigation.
Marella enjoys a strong and regular clientele in central Queensland and specialise in hay crops of cereal hay for their chaff manufacturing customers, fine cut Rhodes and lucerne hay and sweet forage sorghum hay for their cattle clients. To be able to take advantage of the high yielding hay producing growing months and supply customers all year round the hay shed of 25 metres x 34metres has been constructed. The workshop and machinery shed measuring 40 metres x 12 metres has a concreted floor, service pit and electricity connected.
Set on the banks of river amongst the blue gum trees is the homestead which over looks the irrigated fields and features polished timber floors, 4 bedrooms, office, front verandah and the large 5 metre wide covered deck off the living area. Car accommodation comprises a 3 bay lockup colourbond garage.
For the grazing or horse enthusiasts the country along the river is first class. With a history of producing in excess of 3,500 round bales of hay per year Marella enjoys a strong cash flow and is a diverse and productive property.
