The entire station is run as a rotational grazing system. The relatively fertile alluvial plains adjacent to the ranges are broken into smaller paddocks and are used more intensively. The average annual rainfall is 325mm and is summer-dominant, but varies immensely in amount and timing from year to year. Narwietooma produces Shorthorn, Droughtmaster and Brahman crosses targeting domestic and export markets. Stocks are mustered using a combination of helicopters, trap yards, motorbikes and horses. Narwietooma Station continues to operate as a quality cattle property however there is huge potential also to be considered with tourism.
