Architects Design Statement – Tony Caro Architecture:

Designed by Tony Caro Architecture the house will bring a distinctive design aesthetic to this outstanding environment. Enjoying an idyllic northern aspect and a variety of ocean and bushland views, this home has been nestled in to the extensive natural landscaped setting of the Estate.

The home has been created to capture the sites wonderful micro-climate, with a variety of courtyards and balconies designed to respond to the site and take advantage of spectacular ocean views and prevailing breezes.
Embedded carefully into the site contour, the dwelling has been created over three levels. Level 1 includes expansive informal and formal living spaces allowing it to be simultaneously enjoyed by different family members or groups of friends. A centralised outdoor courtyard space has been designed at the heart of the home, bringing light and air into the main living spaces, capturing the sun and natural light while providing shelter from sea breezes when needed.

The master bedroom and ensuite occupies the upper floor level to take advantage of the sunny northern aspect and outlook.

The architecture expresses a central conceptual idea that the house is an open, flexible canvas for its occupants to create a tailored living environment in tune with their individual aspirations and engaged with the extraordinary coastal setting of the site.
