Styles and construction varies from loft style 45degree pitch roof, steel portal frame, timber frame and full brick.  Each has been designed to maximise privacy, they do not overlook one another and each have a private view.

All five cottages have: northerly aspect, internal and external insulated walls, full kitchens, wood burning glass fronted fireplace and covered verandahs.

Floor areas range from 70msq to 120msq., this is unquie as the current Byron Shire Council requirement for a cabin in a Rural Tourist Facility requires a Maximum of 60msq total allowing only two bedroom Cabins. Talofa Lodge has up to 4 Cottages with 3 bedroom capacity and a substantially increased floor area for all cottages.

Income from past bookings of Short Term Holiday accommodation for the cottages have achieved 65% occupancy. Over the past 3 – 4 years a mix of three month holiday lettings with a mix of short term holiday accommodation have been achieved.  

The primary and high school bus stops at the front gate.  

There is surplus spring water, sheds, underground power. Previously Cattle grazing land now has substanial tree planting of 1,000 trees with a section of rain forest regeneration.
