The main home incorporates 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. You will find quality cedar doors & windows with brush box polished timber floors. For the weekends or just time to relax you can enjoy the back courtyard with spa and built in BBQ.

There is also guest or holiday accommodation called “Charlies Cottage”. The cottage features 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and is currently used as a B & B. This character filled charming 2 bedroom cottage, with all the charm of yesteryear, comes with modern facilities. It is air conditioned, has a gas heater and all linen comes with the cottage. All cooking facilities are provided with an outside gas BBQ with oven.

The house was designed by the current owners, and worked out by the use of Feng Shui. New England Country Homes provided the plans and structure, featuring cedar door and windows.

For your security while away from the property there is a hard wired ‘back to base’ security system.

They planted native wattle, blue gums, purple Hardenbergers and flowering native grevillea/shrubs on all those levels, making sure that they were not only bush fire safe, pleasing to the eye, but good for the birds, which are now very plentiful; from wrens to green & red parrots, and large black and red, and yellow cockatoos.

Only the hardiest of trees have been planted on this land, especially the Cedar trees, which the valley is famous for (Yarramalong means place of cedars).

During the construction phase, the owners planted flowering gums from Western Australia, Cherry Blossom, Crab Apple, China Doll, willows and many other natives. These are just some of the beautiful trees on the property, as well as the gardens of fruit and olive trees.

The sweeping drive is lined with Liquid Amber and golden ash and in autumn, the property is alive with colour.

The original dam was cleaned out, widened, & dead trees removed. It is spring fed, and now has water lilies and native grasses to filter, and is fed up to the taps for watering the gardens.

The veggie garden on the eastern side near the large tanks has been fenced off to protect it, and the roses, from the wallabies, which are plentiful and protected, and there is an extra tank especially for this area.

Water is plentiful, a very large tank for the main house, and an overflow tank for the vegies and it is fed back to the house for outside shower/spa/freshwater.

The cottage has 2 tanks also, which are placed down near the 3 bay shed.

The Valley is usually green, peaceful & quiet, with a wonderful village atmosphere, and all this is less than 1 hour from Sydney.

Situated just 40 minutes from Wahroonga, this quality package has direct access into 1000′s of acres of state forest trails. There is also a large 3 bay work shed, plus a 3 bay carport with covered entrance to the residence.

A poem by a guest in 2010 sums the B&B up perfectly.

Teapots and canisters, lavender and lace,
hydrangeas in vases, bound books in case
verandahs of cedar and chairs made of cane;
you’ll find “Charlie’s Cottage” down Ravenswood Lane.

The kitchen’s so rustic with its old fuel stove;
there’s so much to see, the eyes do rove
’round the shelves to see an era gone by
what memories, or secrets, here do lie?

Peaceful, quiet, calm and serene
are before me in the lovely scene;
a long chair with pillows invites me to lie
and happily watch the world go by.

Says it all really!
