I have a single room to offer in a two bedroom, first floor unit. The room offered has a metal bed frame, single mattress, and wardrobe with hanging space and shelving.

The unit is leased in my name and it was leased mostly furnished with things like beds, a fridge, couches, and dining table and chairs provided. I have lived in the unit for a couple of years now and it is all set up and you’re welcome to use what I have here in the unit. There is space for a washing machine in the bathroom but I have always used the coin-operated laundry (washing machine and dryers) about 30 seconds walk from the unit the outside line space.

Each block of units has three floors (ground, first and second) with about 10 units on each. The strata company has fairly strict rules allowing little noise and no pets but this does mean it is quite a pleasant spot to live. It does face the east and Herdsman Parade which does see both light and road noise reach the unit fairly early in the morning but if you enjoy a morning run, Lake Herdsman is about a 2 minute walk from the unit and has a flat 7 km track circling it.

There is one undercover park per unit but the block does have a fair amount visitor parking (I think it is mostly used by tenants) on both the front and back of the block and I have never had to park any great distance from the unit. There is a bus stop right outside the block of units and the 85 comes along from Glendalough Station and heads into the city. There are buses which head into the city on both Grantham St (92, 83) and Cambridge St (81, 82) and it is about a 10-15 minute walk to those stops. At the end of Herdsman Parade, about a 10 minute walk, you can catch the circle route 98/99 which reaches most of the universities.

I have chosen to include utilities in the cost of the unit but the values are something like this. Electricity bills come every two months and seem stable at around $70. Gas bills turn up sporadically so I don’t have a value to put on them. Water, both hot and cold is provided as part of the lease as there is a common hot water supply instead of lots of in-unit water supplies and higher electricity bills. I have an ADSL internet connection in my name and for $75/month I have 120 Gb to work with.

A little about me…I moved to Perth early 2012 and work fairly regularly hours in the city. I am heading back to university part time this year. I am not much in the way of a party creature and spend a fair bit of time at home though I’m sure university is going to disturb this time balance in a few short weeks.

Finally, I am simply looking the usual suspects in a housemate…respectful, clean, and trustworthy. If this sounds like you, I look forward to hearing from you and we can arrange an inspection of the unit and a general chat to find out a little more about each other.
