Location/Background
The City of Wanneroo is in the process of establishing an exiting new facility within the Wanneroo Town Centre with the construction of a state of the art Library and Cultural Centre situated on the corner of Dundebar Road and Rocca Way, directly opposite the City’s main administration building.
The cost of this project is in the vicinity of $18 million and together with the $13 million upgrade of the City’s nearby aquatic facility represents a significant investment by the City in the Wanneroo townsite and local community. The Aquamotion upgrade is nearing completion and is due to be opened in April 2009 (opened 11 April 2009).
In addition, the owners of the Wanneroo Shopping Centre are well into a major upgrade ($40 million approx) of their complex, with the first of two stages complete or nearing completion.
Construction of the Library and Cultural Centre building is progressing well and is due for practical completion around July 2009.
With an abundance of growth opportunities for business investment and development, Wanneroo reflects a scenery where the city and nature come together whilst benefiting from close proximity to Perth. The local population is predicted to grow from 135,000 to around 250,000 by 2021.
