The house is located in a quiet part of Port Melbourne, near Bay Street and is an easy 10-15 minute walk to both the beach and South Melbourne and a 15 minute tram ride to Flinders Street Station (or a half hour walk). The 109 tram stop is an easy 3 minute walk, as are 3 bus lines.

The lower floor of the house features an open plan living area – kitchen, dining room and lounge room. The bathroom (including a bath), separate toilet and one of the bedrooms are also located on the lower floor . The other two bedrooms are upstairs, with French doors that open on to the wrap-around balcony which features a view to the city skyline. The house also has a leafy courtyard with an outdoor setting and bbq.

The available room is one of the upstairs bedrooms. I will be offering the room furnished, including a queen sized mattress and desk. One wall is completely covered with built a built in wardrobe which includes shelving, drawers and a bookshelf and stacks of hanging room. There is so much storage space, it actually encourages me to hold on to stuff purely for the purpose of seeing if I will eventually fill it (FYI, it’s been almost 2 years here and is only just running out of space!). The best part about the room is that it is large, so in addition to the queen bed and desk, there is enough space for a clothes horse and I still manage to have space to exercise. The room also gets a fair whack of all day sun, so is nice and bright (but does feature good curtains that never really make it being too bright an issue!).

The house is shared with 2 flatmates – one guy and one girl (not a couple). The guy has the other upstairs room (opposite the room that will be yours). He is originally from WA and works afternoons behind the scenes on a radio show. The girl is from England and is a graphic designer, so works mostly office hours. Both are laid back, the guy is into music and sports and outside of work, the girl plays squash and has been known to whip up an amazing roast/pulled pork dinner now and then (so whether you’re invited or not, the house smells gloriously delicious haha!).

Rent is $862/month (not inclusive of bills). The house does have wi-fi. Altogether, the bills work out to roughly between $30-$40 each month.

I will be around the house for most of the next week or two but am keen to get everything sorted before the house becomes available on the 15th of December. Please don’t be put off if you need to move before then, as we may be able to work something out. If you are keen, please send an email (this is definitely the best way to contact me) with your preferred time to view the house

I am subletting the room until July 2014 when I return from overseas (though this may be negotiable for the right person)

Thanks!
