As such the power supply & demand is finely balanced. Simply if the sun does not shine for a number of days there will be very little power. NO ADDITIONAL APPLIANCES ARE TO BE BROUGHT TO OR USED AT THE HOUSE. Toasters, hairdryers, coffee machines and bread makers are appliances based on heating elements and will cause the system to fail almost immediately. Please do not bring them! Non-compliance to this will result in a failure of the power system and costly maintenance. Failure of the Solar system will result in no power whatsoever and accordingly all lights and the fridge will cease to work. This house runs exclusively on rainwater – therefore you are asked to be water wise. If the water supply is limited the Agent will advise you of the current levels. Like all properties in Cowan Cowan, the house runs a septic system. The septic systems are sensitive/ low impact systems, therefore it is critical that aside of the toilet paper, no foreign materials go into the systems. The simple rule is – if you have not eaten it first, it should not go down the toilet. We ask you to respect this simple rule as there is no septic pump out service available on the Island. PETS: There is a prohibition on bringing pets to the Island as Moreton Island is 98% National Park
