The Room? Room could fit a queen size bed at a pinch to give you an idea of size, is carpeted and has a built-in cupboard. Room contains a single bed, fold-down wall desk, chair & shelving unit.
The apartment.. A refurbished apartment 4 floors from the ground. Has gas hotwater system, gas stove and washing machine. Building faces north-east, with a north-east balcony off lounge room and noise reducing and tinted windows. Plenty of natural light and fresh breezes. Relatively quiet for its location close to the city. There is only one bathroom but the good news is it’s near the room for rent and I am mindful about the time I spend in it, that is, I’m not a bathroom hog!
The building?Secure building with large established landscaped tranquil gardens, pool and herb/vege garden. Building is on the river and adjacent to Merthyr park behind. A gate allows access to Merthyr Park’s playgrounds adjacent with exercise equipment, BBQ facilities and river walks. A secure basement car park space for apartment can be negotiated for a small amount extra, if required. Also additional storage space in basement is available free of charge, plus room for bikes etc. Carparking is also easily found on-street.
The household.. Other apartment occupant is a mature-aged woman (owner) relatively quiet and respectful of persons and property. I have my own life, but can share the odd meal & glass of wine/ cup of tea. Can share cooking or not, however sharing cleaning costs and efforts is part of the deal. Rest of apartment fully furnished.
The neighbourhood.. World at your finger tips with access to CityCats via Sydney Street ferry terminal and citycycles (rear), buses to City & West End and beyond (in front) & trains in Fortitude Valley a 20 min walk away. By ferry you can be at city Universities & Riverside (central city CBD) in about 10 minutes. Boutique living with shops, cafes, markets, powerhouse, theatres & sporting facilities close by.
Ideal housemate.. A mature, quiet but friendly gay or gay friendly person, who is considerate of others & their possessions and who is clean & tidy in shared areas.
***Utilities are not included in rent. Not sure but think they’re roughly $10 a week per person for both gas and electricity. Free use of internet service. The lounge room also has a smart TV. Full use of kitchen items and linen if needed.
