There are waves for all different classes of ability which are located within close proximity of Marion Bay. Innes is a particularly famous surfing destination, hosting South Australia’s most prestigious surfing event, the Cut loose Coopers Classic. This is held in Innes National Park at Chainmans every October long weekend. Innes offers amazing history dating back into the early century and some of the most unique coastlines and attractions in South Australia. Being at the bottom of the Peninsula offers the chance to fish in two gulfs, the gulfs of Spencer or the Gulf of St Vincent. Both gulfs offer a different style of fishing, the St Vincent Gulf offers mouth-watering King George Whiting and the Spencer Gulf massive snapper. Both of these gulfs including the passage in between Kangaroo Island, offering a wide range of fish species, including Garfish & Kingfish. This area offers all fisherman a day of excitement. Driving through the park is an experience in itself, you will come across all sort of wildlife, including the Western Grey Kangaroos, Emus and the area’s diverse bird life.
